Updated 2:30 p.m. ET: Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ husband says he and his wife are satisfied with a proposed plea deal that would avoid a trial for the man accused of killing six people and wounding Giffords and a dozen others in a January 2011 mass shooting in Tucson, Ariz.
Mark Kelly released a statement early Tuesday saying they support a plea agreement that prosecutors have negotiated with the alleged shooter, Jared Lee Loughner.
